Baldur’s Gate 3 Custom Campaign

A Community-Ran Project in the BG3 Official toolkit.

Project Overview

While being community run, this project is set-up like an AA Company with dedicated departments, leads and a creative director.

My role in the project is that of a typical experienced level designer and environmental artist. I use my experience in the industry to help set up the development pipeline and teach junior developers Larian’s official dev tools. As such, my role has been in a primarily educational and advisory role.

This has led to the creation of a video tutorial series and complete locations. The videos have become a cornerstone of the community as a whole, letting brand-new level designers start creating in the toolkit in hours rather than weeks of re-learning the same information.

Not only are these videos custom-made, but reverse-engineered, dissecting how Larian Studios used these tools to make the levels and explaining them in a way the rest of the community can understand.
